Starbucks has reversed its coverage banning staff from carrying Black Lives Matter equipment amid rising public backlash.
“Starbucks stands in solidarity with our Black partners, community and customers, and understand the desire to express themselves,” the corporate mentioned in an announcement Friday. “As our latest step towards this commitment, we are partnering with the Starbucks Black Partner Network and Black Starbucks leaders to make 250,000 shirts available to our company-operated partners in U.S. and Canada to affirm our support at this critical time in our history.”
The reversal comes after BuzzFeed News reported that Starbucks staff had voiced their considerations concerning the coverage, through which the corporate said Black Lives Matter apparel violated its ban on carrying any kind of political, spiritual, or private equipment or clothes.
